When flying, I always marvel at the scenery below. On a recent trip, it was no different.
A bird's eye view enables you to see the big picture.
It also provides details that a person may not be aware of when they are in the midst of the landscape.
And that's how it is with our own professional development.
We can become caught up with the immediate and may not see the potential unless we also view the big picture.
I was reminded of this when I was recently interviewed by the Logistics Executive TV Channel for their vodcast series.
During the vodcast, we discussed the impact of communication skills on professional growth. It highlighted the importance of observing the details of the big picture.
The interviewer's approach was to provide me solely with the brief of:
