Maria has mentored women in business as part of the Women in Business Mentor Program operated by the Department of State and Regional Development. In 2006 she was a part of a select group of mentors invited to Parliament House in recognition of their contribution to the program.
Maria has also been recognised by Toastmasters International for her leadership and communication skills. She was awarded Area Governor of the Year 2005-2006 for NSW and the ACT for outstanding service and exceptional leadership.
